Recommendations can be the deciding factor in an admissions decision. Now is the perfect time for juniors to start this process.
Put on your thinking cap and consider your options. Your recommendation writer should know you well, have confidence in your ability to succeed at the collegiate level, be an 11th or 12th grade teacher of a core course and be a good writer. Usually students are required to submit a counselor and two teachers’ recommendations. We suggest that teachers should be from different disciplines. We also encourage you to waive your right to see the completed recommendation. Thus, admissions officers will know you are confident about yourself and your recommendations.
